+ Is this a recreational or competitive program?

We believe in teaching the principals of good sportsmanship, fair play, and that winning is secondary to learning, our football and cheerleading programs are extremely competitive. Each year, the competition gets better and better and our program expects and demands more out of the athletes to keep Town and Country as one of the premier programs.

+ How long does the season last?

We begin voluntary pre-season conditioning mini-camps around mid June and first official day of practice is usually mid to late July. The length of the season will of course depend on how well each of the squads do throughout the season, but at minimum the season will continue through the week before Thanksgiving with cheeroffs the first weekend of November. The TBYFL Super Bowl will take place the second week of November and winning teams may have an opportunity to play in the "Game day of Champions

+ What are the costs to register my son or daughter?

The cost to register your child is $225 (Contact Football), $175 (Flag Football), $125 (Varsity Football), $260 (Cheerleading)

+ What other commitments are expected of the parents during the season?

At the registration each family is required to sign up for at least one committee. Participation on this committee is not optional and must be fulfilled to ensure the continued playing status of your child. Each family will be required to participate in at least one fund raiser.

+ How many positions are open on each squad?

Generally there are some openings on each squad for both football players and cheerleaders. The hardest groups to get into for Football and Cheerleading are the Pee Wee and Super Midget squads which tend to fill up quickly. We will be limiting the size of the squads in order to give each player an opportunity to play as much as possible.

+ What do I need to bring to registration?

If the player or cheerleader did not play or cheer with the Packers last season, you will need to bring a copy of their birth certificate which will be retained by the Packers. One parent or legal guardian must also be present to sign applicable form and must have a valid picture ID.

Please Note: If your child is transferring from another TBYFL team we do not need a birth certificate however, a parent or guardian will need to get a signed release form from his/her previous Athletic Director before we can accept the child into our program.

+ Where do the Packers practice?

Practice is held at the Alexander Park Fields off of Hillsborough and Lois (behind Hooters)

+ When is Practice?

The standard TBYFL rules have practices starting in full pads July 28th, practice will be Monday thru Friday until school starts, we will then go to Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights. All weekday practices will be from 6.30-8.30 pm. The only time we will change the regular practice days and times are in cases of make-up practices or special situations.

Please Note: During the first 4 weeks of practice, the practices are on EVERY day of the week Monday – Friday. This helps the teams get ready for the season.
